120 outstanding overseas Vietnamese to participate in Reunification celebration

The official parade to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) will feature the participation of 120 outstanding overseas Vietnamese.

This information was announced by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang at the press conference on activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) held on April 18.

They are overseas Vietnamese who have made many contributions to the national struggle, along with many young faces who are intellectuals, businessmen, and artists abroad.

Currently, the delegation is in Da Nang, planning to join representatives of dignitaries, religions, and ethnic groups in the country to participate in a special ship - the Great Unity Ship, to visit and encourage the soldiers and people of Truong Sa island district and DK1 platform.

After completing this voyage, the overseas Vietnamese delegation will participate in activities in Nha Trang City (Khanh Hoa Province) and activities within the framework of the great ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City.

In addition to the overseas Vietnamese participating in the parade, more than 100 overseas Vietnamese delegates from 25 countries and territories will participate in a series of activities on the occasion of the April 30 ceremony.

Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang added that to date, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has received registrations from more than 140 international reporters, including reporters and assistants from foreign press offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

There are about 40 reporters from other countries who will come to Vietnam, including some former war correspondents, overseas Vietnamese reporters from the US and some European countries to attend and report on this event. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will host several activities for international and domestic reporters.

Informing the press about media activities, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh said: It is expected that on the morning of April 28, the press centre serving the ceremony would officially open.

However, from April 26 to 27, the centre will technically open, creating all favourable conditions for international and domestic reporters to work and communicate about the ceremony.
