These are war correspondents, journalists from countries that supported Vietnam during the war, and overseas Vietnamese reporters.
Approximately 180 international journalists, including seven overseas Vietnamese reporters from the United States and Europe, are expected to attend and report on the 50th anniversary of Southern Liberation and National Reunification.
In addition, over 600 domestic reporters from more than 80 media outlets have so far registered to cover the event.
Notably, the HCM City People’s Committee, in collaboration with the municipal Department of Tourism, has arranged three themed tours for working journalists in the city, including “The Legends of the Sac Forest Special Forces”, “Cu Chi: Land of Steel and Fire”, and “From Mau Than Tet to the Great Victory of Spring 1975”.
These distinctive media tours will offer vivid perspectives, reflecting the remarkable changes and dynamic development of HCM City today.
On this occasion, the southern city will host a wide range of vibrant cultural and artistic events. Notably, it will honour 50 outstanding individuals, 50 significant architectural works, and 50 exemplary literary and artistic pieces, including film, sculpture, music, photography, and more.
Speaking at the press briefing, Nguyen Xuan Bac, Director of the Performing Arts Department, revealed that a special arts performance commemorating the 50th anniversary of Southern Liberation and National Reunification will involve over 1,000 performers, both professionals and amateurs.
The programme consists of three chapters: “The Pain of Division and the Path to Unity”, “The Spring of Peace”, and “The Spring of a New Era”. Alongside veteran performers and honoured artists, many young and popular artists will also take part in the event.
