Politburo member Tran Duc Thang meets voters in Can Tho City

Politburo member and Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Duc Thang on March 8 met with voters at the Constituency No. 3 in Can Tho City.

The Politburo member met with voters in the communes of Tan Hoa, Thanh Xuan, Truong Long Tay, Vi Thanh 1, Vinh Vien, Xa Phien, Luong Tam.

At the meetings, voters listened to introduction of the brief biographies of the candidates, while each candidate also presented their proposed action programme should they be elected to the National Assembly.

The action programmes focused on a wide range of practical issues, including socio-economic development, investment in infrastructure construction, promotion of digital transformation, social welfare assurance, support for agricultural production and improvements in people’s living standards.

After studying the candidates’ biographies and action programmes, voters expressed particular interest in solutions for local socio-economic development in the coming period, especially investment in transport and irrigation infrastructure to support production, as well as measures to improve both the material and spiritual lives of the people.

Many voters comment that the candidates possess strong political integrity, good moral qualities, high professional qualifications and practical experience.

Voters also expressed the hope that, once elected, National Assembly deputies would maintain close ties with the people, listen to and faithfully convey voters’ concerns and aspirations to the National Assembly and relevant authorities, so that issues arising from reality can be addressed in a timely manner.

In addition, voters recommended that the deputies pay greater attention to environmental issues, the development of rural transport infrastructure, irrigation systems serving agricultural production, job creation for local labourers and facilitating better access for residents to livelihood support policies.
