Editor-in-chief Le Quoc Minh appointed as Deputy Head of PCC’s Commission for Communication and Education

Member of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper Le Quoc Minh has been appointed to serve concurrently as Deputy Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communication and Education and hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association (VJA) for the 2015-2020 and 2020-2025 tenures.

The Politburo’s decision was announced at a ceremony on August 6 in the presence of Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the PCC and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communication and Education, and Hoang Dang Quang, member of the PCC and Deputy Head of the PCC’s Organisation Commission.

At the event, Deputy Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communication and Education Phan Xuan Thuy announced the Politburo’s Decision No. 180-QDNS/TW, dated July 21, 2021, on assigning the Nhan Dan leader to concurrently serve as Deputy Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communication and Education and appointing him as Secretary of the Party Committee of the VJA for the 2015-2020 and 2020-2025 tenures.

In his remark, Nghia spoke highly of the Nhan Dan leader’s capability, expressing his belief that in the additional roles, Minh will continue to strive to fulfil all the assigned tasks, making worthy contributions to the development of the country.

In assuming the new positions, Minh affirmed that together with taking care of affairs at Nhan Dan Newspaper, he would join with relevant collectives and units to successfully complete the tasks assigned to him.

On behalf of the VJA, Standing Vice Chairman of the VJA Ho Quang Loi congratulated the Nhan Dan Editor-in-chief on his appointment as Secretary of the Party Committee of the VJA, voicing his desire that Minh will build on his prestige and capability to join the VJA in fulfilling the duty assigned by the Politburo and the PCC’s Secretariat.

Earlier, on May 20, Standing Deputy Head of the PCC’s Organisation Commission Nguyen Thanh Binh announced the Politburo’s Decision No. 86-QDNS/TW, dated April 29, 2021, on appointing Le Quoc Minh, member of the PCC and Deputy General Director of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA), as Editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper.

On July 26, member of the PCC and Nhan Dan Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh was assigned by the Standing Board of the Party Committee of the Central Agencies’ Bloc to join the Executive Committee and Standing Board, and hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of Nhan Dan Newspaper for the 2020-2025 tenure.
