Central Theoretical Council celebrates 25th founding anniversary

The Party Central Committee’s Theoretical Council solemnly held a ceremony in Hanoi on October 30 to mark its 25th founding anniversary (October 30, 1996 - 2021).

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent baskets of flowers to congratulate the Council.

Speaking at the ceremony, Politburo member, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council and Director of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Nguyen Xuan Thang reviewed the important imprints, achievements and lessons learned in the Council’s 25-year journey of establishment and development.

He underscored that the achievements obtained by the Council in the past 25 years are attributable to the direct and regular leadership and direction of the Politburo, the Secretariat, the deep attention and close guidance of the Party General Secretary to the theoretical work of the Party in general and the work of the Council in particular; as well as the effective coordination and assistance of central and local departments, ministries and agencies; the cooperation of scientific research agencies, academies, and schools; and the enthusiastic and responsible participation of scientists throughout the country.

On behalf of the Politburo and the Secretariat, Politburo member cum Permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Vo Van Thuong highly appreciated the efforts made by the Council regarding the Party’s theoretical work and the cause of national renewal, construction and defence.

Over the past five working terms, the Council has affirmed its role and position while gathering and connecting wisdom and knowledge, steadfastness and creativity; constantly innovated models and modes of operation; gathered a large number of scientists, experts, research institutes, academies and universities; as well as fulfilled its assigned functions and tasks, contributing to the overall success of the Party and the country, he added.

Also at the ceremony, two former officials of the Council received the Second Class and Third Class Independence Orders.
