Addressing the award ceremony at the office of the Vietnam Writers' Association in Hanoi yesterday, President Triet praised Son Tung's achievements throughout his life and career, adding that his works conveyed deeply humane messages that have been highly acclaimed by many readers over the generations. He not only studied and followed President Ho Chi Minh's moral example, but also used his pen to fight against social evils and protect his country and people, said the President.
Born on August 8, 1928 in the Dien Chau district of the central province of Nghe An, Son Tung, whose full name is Bui Son Tung, has written thousands of pages in 25 works, including 14 about President Ho Chi Minh. His book 'Bup Sen Xanh' (Green Lotus Bud) is now in its 20th printing.
