The project is funded by the Standard Chartered Foundation through Plan International Viet Nam. It is part of the global initiative called Futuremakers by Standard Chartered, which aims to support vulnerable young people — particularly women and persons with disabilities — in accessing vocational training, developing essential skills, and finding sustainable employment opportunities.
In Viet Nam, the project will be implemented by Plan International Vietnam in collaboration with the Ha Noi Vocational College of Industry (HNIVC) and the Bac Thang Long Economic–Technical Intermediate School (BTL) from 2025 to 2027.
It aims to support 2,000 disadvantaged young people (with 70% being women and 5% being persons with disabilities) to participate in short-term vocational training and soft skills courses tailored to market demand.
Speaking at the launch event, Trinh Nhu Quynh, Head of Corporate Affairs, Marketing, and Brand at Standard Chartered Bank Vietnam, shared: “We are delighted to continue partnering with Plan International to implement the next phase of this project, which has helped thousands of young people overcome barriers, secure employment, and contribute positively to their communities.”
According to Le Quynh Lan, Country Director of Plan International Viet Nam, Plan International Viet Nam has closely collaborated with partners to successfully implement many market-oriented vocational training projects over the years. These projects aim to support disadvantaged young people, especially young women, by providing opportunities to learn vocational skills, equipping them with necessary competencies, introducing them to jobs, and enabling stable incomes after graduation.
HNIVC Principal Pham Thi Huong hailed the significance of the project, as it opens opportunities for vocational training, employment, and development for many young people, especially women and persons with disabilities.
She expressed her belief the project will be a testament to all parties’ commitment to empowering youth, particularly women, to realise their potential and build a sustainable future .
Sharing the same view, BTL Principal Ta Van Xa applauded that this project provides equal opportunities for disadvantaged youths, especially females and people with disabilities, enabling them to confidently rise up and succeed.
