Liem’s dramatic jump is mostly thanks to the world blitz championship title he won at the 2013 World Blitz and Rapid Chess Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia earlier last month.
Regarding the rapid chess category, Liem also enjoyed a 15-place leap to 20th in the world with an elo point of 2729, while he maintained 33rd position in the standard chess discipline for his 2712 elo points.
