Theme ‘Conquering Phu Van Peak’, the event was jointly held by the People’s Committee of Uong Bi City, the Quang Ninh Provincial Journalists’ Association, and Great Race Vietnam.
The race attracted the participation of nearly 4,000 professional and amateur athletes from nearly 30 provinces and cities across the country.
With two race distances of 5 km and 8 km, the running routes passed through the system of temples, shrines, towers, pine street, and bamboo Forest of the special national relic site of Yen Tu, with a maximum altitude of 1,068 meters above sea level.
Along with awarding first, second, third prizes and the top 10 for male and female athletes in the two distances of 5 km and 8 km, the organising board also presented prizes to the oldest male and female athletes participating in the event.
The Yen Tu Mountain Climbing Race was not only a sporting activity but also a cultural and spiritual journey, awakening national pride and promoting the image of Uong Bi – Yen Tu – Quang Ninh to visitors.
