The Viet Nam futsal team, led by Tran Anh Minh, Member of the Executive Committee of the Viet Nam Football Federation, as Head of the Delegation, together with head coach Diego Giustozzi, left Ho Chi Minh City to travel to Indonesia to participate in the AFC Futsal Championship 2026.
Coach Diego Giustozzi and his players departed from Tan Son Nhat International Airport on a flight taking off at 10:30, and were scheduled to land at Jakarta International Airport at 13:50 on the same day. Upon arrival in Indonesia, the team will quickly move to their base to stabilise daily routines, while completing the final stages of preparation before entering official competition.
Prior to departure, the Viet Nam futsal team completed its training camp at the Chanh Hung Ward Futsal Arena (Ho Chi Minh City). During this period, the entire team underwent a rigorous training process, along with important match practice, including two friendly matches against the Afghanistan futsal team.
This was regarded as an opportunity for the coaching staff to review personnel, refine playing style and enhance the players’ competitive mindset. The official squad list of 14 players was also finalised by head coach Diego Giustozzi, ensuring the selection of those with the best form and experience.
At the AFC Futsal Championship 2026, the Viet Nam futsal team has been drawn into Group B alongside highly rated opponents, including reigning Asian runners-up Thailand, Kuwait and Lebanon.
With thorough preparation, strong determination and a squad with depth, the Viet Nam futsal team aims to perform at its highest level, target positive results and continue to affirm the position of Vietnamese futsal on the continental stage.
