RoK supports Dak Lak in preservation and promotion of intangible cultural heritages

O n March 21, the Dak Lak Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Jeollabuk-do Centre for International Affairs (JBCIA) from the Republic of Korea (RoK) to implement a project o n preserving and promoting the values of intangible cultural heritages in Dak Lak Province.

The signing ceremony was held in an online format.

Under the MoU, the JBCIA has committed to provide Dak Lak Province with 55,000 USD to carry out activities under the project on preserving and promoting the values of intangible cultural heritages in Dak Lak Province as well as to be responsible for monitoring all activities, targets and progress towards achieving project outputs.

In addition, the JBCIA will develop a plan to monitor the project and manage its results based on criteria for each activity as well as reports provided by the Dak Lak Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The department will primarily be responsible for evaluating and selecting localities in the province related to the project and developing a plan for effective implementation of the project towards achieving optimal results.

In 2022, the JBCIA sponsored the implementation of aproject on preserving and promoting the values of Cong Chieng (Gong) culture in Dak Lak Province. The projecthas not only contributed to preserving and promoting the value of gong culture, as committed in the registration dossier with UNESCO, but also enhanced the understanding of culture and traditions between the peoples of Dak Lak Province and Jeollabuk Province.
