In Tuyen Quang Province, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of its Commission for Communication, Education and Mass Mobilisation Trinh Van Quyet attended a hybrid in-person and online conference linking 122 local access points across the province.
Lawmakers reported that the 12-day session had completed its full agenda, including the consolidation of senior leadership positions and the adoption of important laws and resolutions, laying a foundation for the new legislative term.
Voters broadly welcomed the outcomes but raised a range of concerns. These included calls for stronger social welfare policies, particularly for ethnic minority and mountainous communities, and targeted support for border residents through housing, production land and livelihood assistance. Participants also urged higher allowances for commune-level officials, citing heavy workloads, and prioritised investment in deteriorating inter-commune roads in remote areas.
Responding to the concerns, Trinh Van Quyet said the delegation would consolidate voters’ recommendations and report them to relevant authorities. He reaffirmed that ensuring social welfare and improving living standards—especially in disadvantaged regions—remains a central priority, supported by national target programmes aimed at sustainable poverty reduction.
He also highlighted ongoing efforts to refine administrative restructuring and the two-tier local government model, with an emphasis on decentralisation and resolving procedures at grassroots level.
Meanwhile in Son La Province, National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hong met voters who similarly expressed support for the legislature’s first sitting while proposing policy adjustments on land management, support for people with meritorious service, and credit access for high-tech agriculture.
Local authorities also called for revisions to the 2017 Tourism Law to better promote community-based and eco-tourism, alongside mechanisms to support households and cooperatives in mountainous areas. Infrastructure proposals featured prominently, including investment in the CT.03 expressway linking Moc Chau, Son La and Dien Bien, upgrades to the Hoa Binh–Moc Chau route, and the addition of a Son La–Lao Cai expressway to the national network.
Nguyen Thi Hong said the meetings were an important opportunity not only to report legislative outcomes but also to directly capture public sentiment and feed it into policymaking, stressing the need for both state support and greater local initiative to drive sustainable development.
