Promptly lifting the illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing “yellow card” is a crucial step for Viet Nam’s fisheries sector and the entire agriculture industry to help safeguard and enhance the nation’s reputation and position while promoting sustainable livelihoods for millions of fishers.

The Directorate of Fisheries and the Department of Fisheries Surveillance under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment are currently implementing a high campaign to combat smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and violations of intellectual property rights in the fisheries sector, as outlined in Plan No. 624/KH-TSKN.
