The enduring lesson of relying on the people and harnessing the strength of popular support continues to be reinforced and vividly demonstrated in practice.

Economic development under the forest canopy

Following the administrative merger, Da Nang has more than 808,000 hectares of forestry land, accounting for over 68% of its total natural area. In recent years, many mountainous localities in Da Nang have vigorously developed forest-based livelihoods, including medicinal plant cultivation and ecotourism, generating sustainable incomes for local residents while contributing to forest protection, ecological conservation and socio-economic development.
