The Red River, which is often called the mother river and is closely associated with the emergence of wet-rice civilisation and the thousand-year cultural history of Thang Long-Ha Noi and the Red River Delta, stands at a historic turning point.

According to assessments by international experts and media, the Red River Landscape Boulevard Axis Investment and Construction Project will create long-term growth momentum for Ha Noi. To realise this vision, Ha Noi will have to address considerable challenges, ranging from the environment, resettlement, and financial resources to the preservation of the city's identity.

Ha Noi is accelerating the construction of seven bridges spanning the Red River, targeting completion in the second quarter of 2027 to improve transport connectivity and serve APEC activities next year.

Despite rising prices, difficulties in sourcing construction materials, and increasingly high and unpredictable river water levels, the seven bridge projects spanning the Red River are continuing to make every effort to stay on schedule.

Ha Noi Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang has issued a directive on strengthening Party leadership at all levels in the implementation of the Red River Scenic Boulevard Axis project.

Flowing through the history of Thang Long - Ha Noi for more than a thousand years, the Red River is not merely a geographical feature but also the axis along which the city has taken shape and evolved. In the new planning mindset, it is defined as the central landscape corridor, serving as the backbone for spatial organisation and a new symbol of the capital’s development.

The construction of a road connecting cultural heritage, tourism and economic development along the Red River, together with the restoration of the ancient Pho Hien, which was once a bustling urban centre and trading port with unique cultural and religious works on the Red River – will contribute to creating new values and driving forces for socio-economic and cultural development, making Hung Yen one of the tourism centres of the Red River Delta.

Rarely does a location bring together all the favourable conditions for development as does Hung Phu Commune in Hung Yen Province, which has forests, sea access, and the steadily growing Thai Binh Economic Zone, creating tremendous potential to completely reshape this rural landscape.
