Party chief urges stronger material, spiritual internal capacity in new era

The Politburo’s Resolution 79-NQ/TW on developing the state-run economic sector and Resolution 80-NQ/TW on advancing Vietnamese culture aim to reinforce material and spiritual internal capacity, affirming the resolve to build an independent, self-reliant, dynamic, and efficient economy deeply integrated into global markets while building an advanced Vietnamese culture rich in national identity, said Party General Secretary To Lam.

The political and artistic programme “To quoc trong tim” (The Fatherland in Our Hearts) was a cultural highlight in 2025.

Breakthrough policy decision on culture

On behalf of the Politburo, Party General Secretary To Lam on January 7, 2026, signed and promulgated Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW on the development of Vietnamese culture (Resolution 80). The resolution was issued at a pivotal moment, as the country enters a new era of development and moves towards major milestones marking the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the nation.
