In pictures: Tet traditions help spread Vietnamese culture in Cambodia
As Tet draws near each year, Vietnamese enterprises in Cambodia hold spring get-togethers with shared activities such as wrapping banh chung and cooking the flavours of home, bringing Vietnamese culture to the community and closer to Cambodian friends.

On the afternoon of February 14, in Phnom Penh, Metfone held a banh chung-wrapping event and a spring gathering to celebrate Tet 2026. This year’s event attracted more than 100 staff members of the enterprise, including both Vietnamese and Cambodian employees.
The activity carries practical meaning, creating an upbeat and joyful atmosphere for Tet 2026, helping boost morale and ease homesickness among Vietnamese staff who are unable to return to Viet Nam at year-end. Taking a short break from wrapping, Metfone General Director Cao Manh Duc (in a pink shirt) shared that the programme has become an annual activity of the enterprise, with the aim of bringing Tet spirit to staff members who cannot travel back to Viet Nam, while also making Vietnamese culture more familiar to Cambodian friends. Ha Le Que Anh (in a yellow outfit) shared that working far from family and homeland is also a way to mature. “When preparing for Tet here with everyone, I realise that Tet is not only about going home, but also about being with people who care about you.” (Photo: DINH TRUONG) For many participants — especially Vietnamese staff — the programme is not merely a corporate team activity, but also a memorable time that revives familiar memories and the busy lead-up to Tet. These cakes will be sent to Metfone’s departments, units and branches in localities across Cambodia, sharing affection and the familiar flavours of a warm Tet, rich in the sense of home. (Photo: HUY VU)
