The event was attended by Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication, Education and Mass Mobilisation; and Pham Hung Thai, Deputy Secretary of the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies.

Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Trong Nghia affirmed that this was a meaningful activity, particularly in the context that Tay Ninh Province and the whole country, has recently completed the process of merging administrative units and implementing a two-tier local governance model.

Organising activities to pay tribute to policy beneficiary families at this time not only reflects the moral tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source”, but also contributes to fostering solidarity in the whole political system and the people.

According to Pham Hung Thai, over the past time, in addition to fulfilling its key political tasks, the Tay Ninh Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies has prioritised and implemented social welfare programmes, aimed at supporting policy beneficiary families, poor people and vulnerable groups. This act of gratitude, he noted, is also a political responsibility and a heartfelt gesture from the present generation towards those who sacrificed and contributed to the country.

At the event, 30 policy beneficiary families were presented gifts and bouquets of gratitude from leaders and sponsoring organisations.

In addition to the gift-giving activity, “The radiance of Vietnamese eyes” programme was officially launched. Around 200–300 people will receive free eye examinations and consultations, and about 70 -100 cataract surgeries will be carried out at Tay Ninh General Hospital. The programme is jointly organised by the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies, Department of Health, Department of Home Affairs, and Military Hospital 175.
