Hundreds of gift boxes from organisations and businesses nationwide have also been sent to soldiers and residents in the island district.

According to Vice Chairman of the Khanh Hoa provincial People's Committee Dao Cong Thien, the annual visits to Truong Sa express the special attention of the Party, State, Ministry of Defence and people across the country to the cause of protection of national sea and islands.

In addition, localities, organisations and individuals from across the country will also send gifts and financial assistance to encourage those who are defending the sacred national territory.

Notably, for this year’s Tet festival, Truong Sa soldiers will have fresh flowers and kumquat trees. After Tet, they will launch tree-planting festivals.
