Phase 2, which launched in August 2022 with a 33 million USD investment, spans 16.300 m2 and features a student centre, dining areas, and over 100 modern classrooms. The campus will eventually accommodate 5,500 students. Phase 3, set for 2028, will raise the total investment of BUV to 165 million USD to further enhance its facilities.

BUV prioritises sustainability and green spaces, with only 20% of its land developed for construction.

At the event, Nguyen Tien Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation, under the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), emphasised the project's role in advancing international education and attracting foreign investment.

BUV President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Raymond Gordon highlighted the university’s commitment to delivering high-quality British education. The new phase is built on three key pillars: optimised learning spaces, cutting-edge technology, and sustainable development. With smart digital systems, the two new buildings will meet students’ needs in accessing various academic resources.

Beyond academic excellence, sustainability remains a top priority, with the campus cutting energy use by 43%, water consumption by 40%, and carbon emissions by 61% compared to standard universities.

During the event, Professor Wendy Thomson, Vice-Chancellor of the University of London, announced that BUV is now an official “International Partner” of the university, one of only a few worldwide.

British Ambassador Ian Frew praised BUV’s expansion, recognising its role in strengthening UK-Vietnam education ties and raising its global standing.

At the event, BUV received the prestigious Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies (EDGE) green building certification for its Phase 2 development, following its first certification in November 2024.

BUV is the first university in Vietnam to achieve EDGE Advanced certification, reinforcing its leadership in sustainable education.
