This is the first time TMV, as main sponsor, has collaborated with the VPF to organise Vietnam’s national football championship, which is expected to bring a fresh wind to the national professional football.
With TMV’s support, the VFF and VPF will make their best effort to host a football season of fair-play spirit, transparency and high quality, said VPF General Director Pham Ngoc Vien.
‘By accompanying Vietnam’s top-tier league, TMV hopes to promote sportsmanship among Vietnamese people,’ said TMV Director General Yoshihisa Maruta.
He affirmed that TMV will work closely with the VFF and VPF to improve the V-League tournament’s quality in terms of both expertise and entertainment, thus lifting the national football championship to a higher level and gradually making V-League the top football brand in Vietnam.
The 2015 V-League season, to be called ‘Toyota V-League 1-2015’ under the new sponsorship, will take place from January 4 to September 20, with 14 professional football clubs across the country competing in 182 matches.
The overall champions will receive VND3 billion (US$141,000) in prize money, while the second and third place finishers will get VND1.5 billion and VND750 million respectively.
