Viet Nam and Italy strengthen cultural ties through bridge of connection

On the occasion of the official visit to Italy by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, his spouse Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga held an exchange with the Italy–Viet Nam Cultural Bridge Association in Rome on the morning of April 14 (local time), highlighting ongoing efforts to strengthen cultural connectivity and deepen mutual understanding between Viet Nam and Italy.

At the event, Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga listened to Le Thi Bich Huong, President of the Italy–Viet Nam Cultural Bridge Association, along with Italian students, share their more than 10-year journey of persistent contributions to connecting the cultures of Viet Nam and Italy, from promoting the Vietnamese language and organising cultural exchanges to community-oriented support and networking activities. Participants also enjoyed a distinctive quan ho performance by Italian students, delivered in Vietnamese.

The spouse of the National Assembly Chairman expressed her emotion at meeting members of the Association, those who are nurturing a special bridge: a bridge of culture and affection between Viet Nam and Italy.

The Association’s activities not only preserve Vietnamese culture within the community but also actively connect, disseminate and enrich cultural life in Italy with Viet Nam’s distinctive values.

On this occasion, Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga expressed her appreciation to Italian students for choosing to study Vietnamese and expressed hope that they would have opportunities to visit Viet Nam in the future to directly experience the beauty of its culture, people and a dynamic, identity-rich country in development.

With the dedication and close ties of the Vietnamese community in Italy, along with the support of organisations such as the Italy–Viet Nam Cultural Bridge Association, Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga expressed confidence that the cultural values of Viet Nam and Italy will continue to spread more widely, contributing to strengthening friendship between the two nations.

The Italy–Viet Nam Cultural Bridge Association was established in 2015 in the city of Bologna, Emilia-Romagna Region—an active centre for cultural exchange and international cooperation in Italy.

The Association’s activities focus on promoting Vietnamese cultural values (including music, dance, theatre and cuisine), preserving and promoting traditional cultural heritage; organising Vietnamese language teaching for younger generations and supporting the Vietnamese community in learning Italian, thereby fostering intercultural education and training; supporting the integration of Vietnamese people in Italy while serving as a cultural intermediary to enhance dialogue, understanding and integration among communities; and contributing to strengthening Viet Nam–Italy friendship as well as promoting cultural, academic and scientific exchanges.
