Welcoming the Mongolian delegation on March 4, Chief Justice Quang emphasised that the visit reflects the close cooperation between the two Supreme Courts and the longstanding friendship between Viet Nam and Mongolia. He noted that bilateral relations have strengthened over more than 70 years, particularly following the establishment of a Comprehensive Partnership during General Secretary and President To Lam’s state visit to Mongolia in September 2024.
Chief Justice Quang praised Mongolia’s economic development and the Supreme Court’s achievements, particularly judicial reforms to enhance independence, transparency, legal framework improvements, human resource development, and the gradual implementation of digital courts. He also highlighted the active judicial cooperation between the two countries and expressed confidence that the visit would further deepen collaboration.
During the talks, Quang briefed the delegation on Viet Nam’s legal and socio-economic developments, including the Party’s 14th National Congress, judicial reforms, and restructuring of the court system into three levels: Supreme, provincial/city, and regional courts.
He noted the new Law on Specialised Courts at the International Financial Centre, which introduces flexible mechanisms aligned with international practices, such as allowing foreign judges, applying foreign law and arbitration awards, and promoting party autonomy in disputes.
Both sides discussed future cooperation, including high-level exchanges, continued implementation of the existing Memorandum of Understanding, and experience sharing on specialised courts (intellectual property, bankruptcy), digital court development, and recognition of foreign judgments and arbitral awards.
The Chief Justices also witnessed the signing of an MoU between their respective Judicial Academies, which will soon develop a phased action plan to ensure practical and effective cooperation, strengthening judicial capacity and fostering socio-economic development between Viet Nam and Mongolia.
