In the East Asia zone, Viet Nam claimed eighth position. Within Southeast Asia, Thailand continues to lead, standing seventh in Asia. Malaysia follows in 11th place, Singapore in 14th, Viet Nam in 15th, and Cambodia in 19th.

According to the AFC, the ranking is compiled based on clubs’ performances in continental competitions over the past eight seasons.

This ranking determines the allocation of places in Asian club competitions for the 2027/28 season. With its current position, Viet Nam will once again receive one direct berth and one indirect berth in the AFC Champions League Two, the same allocation as for the 2024/25 and 2025/26 seasons.

In recent years, Vietnamese clubs have maintained a consistent presence in continental competitions. In the 2025/26 season, Viet Nam was represented by Cong An Ha Noi FC and Nam Dinh FC in the AFC Champions League Two.

Cong An Ha Noi delivered an impressive performance, reaching the round of 16, while Nam Dinh finished third in their group stage. These results contributed valuable points to Vietnamese football in the AFC rankings.
