The competitors came from 22 teams representing localities across the countries, including Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, Vinh Long, Dong Nai, Quang Ninh and Hai Phong.
They are competing across four categories of classical, rapid, blitz and hyperbullet.
Held annually, the National Team Chess Championship is a key event in Viet Nam’s high-performance sports calendar. It provides a platform to evaluate the quality of coaching and athlete development across localities, while enabling players to exchange knowledge, sharpen their skills and gain valuable competitive experience.
The tournament also plays an important role in assessing players’ technical levels, serving as a basis for selecting teams to represent Viet Nam at international competitions.
This year’s event is being co-organised by the Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Culture and Sports and the Viet Nam Chess Federation.
