The same day, the Vietnamese Ambassador in Mongolia also handed over a diplomatic note with the same content to Mongolian Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.

At the reception, Son expressed his satisfaction with the development of the bilateral friendly and co-operative relations nearly the last 60 years. He stressed that the recognition of each other as market economy was a great step in the implementation of the Vietnam–Mongolia Friendship and Co-operation Agreement that would benefit the people from both countries.

Enkhbat asserted that Mongolia appreciates the friendly and co-operative relations with Vietnam in many fields, and said he believed the event would deepen Vietnam–Mongolia relations, especially in economics and trade.

Both sides agreed the event was a milestone demonstrating mutual trust and assistance at multilateral forums, and would help promote potential commercial relations between Vietnam and Mongolia.
