During the exchange programme, the delegation of the Vietnam Border Guard Command led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Anh Tuan, Political Commissar of the Vietnam Border Guard Command, and the delegation of the National Immigration Administration of China led by its deputy head Ly Tuan Kiet, conducted exchange activities, visited cultural exhibitions, visited the Vietnamese Revolutionary Youth League headquarters relic site and the basic units of the National Immigration Administration of China.

The two sides held high-level talks, discussed and evaluated the achieved results, and agreed on many important issues to guide the promotion of cooperation between the Vietnam Border Guard Command and the National Immigration Administration of China in general and the Political Exchange in particular, contributing to strengthening the peaceful, friendly, and stable environment in the Vietnam-China border areas and border gates.

The two sides agreed and appreciated the effectiveness of political exchange activities, affirming that after ten years of implementation, this activity has made important new steps forward.

Speaking at the talks, Lieutenant General Nguyen Anh Tuan suggested that in the coming time, the two sides need to promote political exchange and cooperation activities at all levels, improve the effectiveness of station-station twinning activities and seriously implement twinning activities between grassroots Party organisations, replicate the models of "Friendship Ambassadors" and "Outstanding Party Members" and increase exchanges and share experiences to improve political theory levels to strengthen cooperation in cadre training.

The two sides need to continue to research and develop mechanisms for educational, training and coaching exchanges to promote more diverse and effective cooperation in training and human resource training between the two sides, strengthen cooperation in disseminating and popularising laws at the grassroots level, cultural and sports exchanges and jointly consolidate and expand the results of the pilot exchange of political work at the grassroots level.
