On November 6, the Department of Cultural Diplomacy and UNESCO under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and partners jointly held a press conference in Hanoi to announce the “Vietnam Days Abroad 2024” programme.

This marks the programme’s 12th year, with the goal of promoting the image of the country, people and culture of Vietnam to international friends, thus contributing to deepening and sustaining the relationship between Vietnam and other countries while strengthening friendship, understanding and mutual trust between the people of other countries and Vietnam.

The organising committee hopes that by recalling the rich cultural heritage, from language, customs and traditions to traditional arts, it will be possible to encourage overseas Vietnamese to preserve and promote their national identity, while also contributing to the development of the country in the era of technology and globalisation.

“Vietnam Day Abroad 2024” will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from November 15 to 17, right before the Summit of the Group of 20 leading developed and emerging economies (G20). This is the time when the 20 largest economies of the planet and many member countries gather together, providing an opportunity for the programme to reach the large number of high-level delegates attending the conference, thereby contributing to spreading the content and activities to the Brazilian people and many international friends.

Next, the program will be brought to the capital Riyadh of Saudi Arabia from December 13 to 15. The programme will continue to introduce the Vietnamese Cultural Space with its rich identity to the local public.
