The event was attended by representatives of municipal departments, leaders of friendship organisations, diplomatic missions, international guests, and more than 300 delegates and audience members who are artists, young people, students, and classical music lovers from across Da Nang.

The New York Classical Music Society (NYCMS) is a leading organisation in the field of classical music, bringing together conductors, pianists, string and wind musicians, composers, and opera singers.

During the concert, 15 talented artists from NYCMS performed 13 classical pieces, bringing a deeply emotional and memorable musical experience. The programme introduced Western classical music to the people in Da Nang, contributing to strengthening Vietnam-Republic of Korea (RoK) relations in the city as well as promoting mutual understanding and friendship with the international community.

Speaking at the event, Nguyen Ngoc Binh, Chairman of the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organisations, said that Da Nang has established cooperative and friendly relations with 50 localities of 24 countries and territories, including five localities of the RoK: Changwon, Daegu, Hwaseong, Jeju, and Pyeongtaek; three of the United States: Oakland, Pittsburgh, and Houston; and one of France: Nord-Pas de Calais.

Emphasising the role of cultural diplomacy, Nguyen Ngoc Binh stated that international music programmes held in Da Nang have become bridges for cultural exchange, contributing to greater understanding between Da Nang, as well as Vietnam as a whole, and countries around the world.

Kang Boo Sung, Consul General of RoK in Da Nang, shared that Vietnamese artists have recently received growing affection from Korean audiences.

“In the future, the Consulate General of RoK in Da Nang will continue to promote cultural exchange between the two countries, helping to foster a deeper understanding of each other’s cultures,” Kang Boo Sung affirmed.

Apart from the concert, the Vietnam-RoK Week will feature other key events at Duy Tan University, including the opening ceremony of the Samsung Innovation Campus 2025, organised by Samsung Group; and a signing ceremony of a research cooperation agreement between Duy Tan University and Chungbuk National University of RoK.
