Taking place from July 9-12, the festival features a wide range of new activities and diverse programmes, with the participation of numerous localities, businesses and organisations from Viet Nam and Japan. It promises to provide a vibrant platform for exchanges, networking and unique experiences for local residents, visitors and partners from both countries.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi emphasised that, after many editions, the Viet Nam-Japan Festival has become one of Da Nang's typical external relations events, contributing to strengthening the increasingly close cooperative ties between the city and Japanese localities and partners.
She said the festival is not only an occasion for the two cultures to meet and promote their traditional and modern values, but also an important bridge for localities, businesses, organisations and people of the two countries to enhance mutual understanding, expand cooperation and work towards sustainable development.
She expressed her confidence that, just as the sea voyages of the past carried aspirations for trade and friendship that connected the peoples of the two countries, today's Viet Nam-Japan Festival would continue to open up new opportunities for cooperation and foster close ties between Da Nang and Japanese localities, businesses and people.
"Building on the historical values that we cherish, we will together create new opportunities for the future so that the Viet Nam-Japan friendship will continue to flourish as we work towards peace, prosperity and sustainable development," Nguyen Thi Anh Thi stressed.
In addition to cooperation and networking activities, the festival offers a distinctive cultural, trade and tourism space featuring nearly 100 booths, together with a wide range of artistic performances and interactive experiences.
Notably, the conference entitled "Meet Japan in Da Nang: Comprehensive Strategic Partnership – Towards a Sustainable Future", held successfully on July 9, opened up new directions for cooperation while witnessing the signing of a number of important agreements between Da Nang and Japanese localities and businesses across various fields, laying the foundation for increasingly substantive, effective and sustainable cooperation between the two sides.
New highlights of this year's festival include Japanese Judo and Vietnamese Vovinam demonstrations, the Earthing Marathon and a Viet Nam-Japan friendly football exchange.
The festival also brings together numerous Vietnamese and Japanese businesses, including leading brands such as ACECOOK Viet Nam, TAKARA, AEON Mall Viet Nam, Mikazuki Japanese Resort & Spa and Yamaha Motor Viet Nam, alongside local enterprises showcasing a wide range of distinctive OCOP products.
