The festival is not only an annual cultural exchange activity but also contributes to strengthening friendship and cooperation between localities, organisations, and businesses from the two countries, while boosting bilateral people-to-people exchanges.
This year’s event features the largest-ever trade, cuisine, culture, and tourism promotion and exchange programme, gathering 300 booths run by businesses from both nations.
Highlights include the inaugural COS-MIC ASIA anime and pop-culture convention, an Ao Dai design contest, a kimono design workshop, the YOSAKOI festival, and performances of royal music.
Visitors can also take part in assorted sporting activities such as skateboarding, breakdancing, rope skipping, BMX cycling, and cycling.
Music lovers can enjoy youthful, vibrant performances by artists from both countries, including Dong Nhi, B Ray, CAPTAIN BOY, and Japanese boyband Psychic Fever from Exile Tribe.
Seminars discussing Viet Nam–Japan tourism trends and the development of human resources for a sustainable future are also scheduled to take place as part of the two-day festival.
