In attendance at the ceremony were Nguyen Duc Minh, Deputy Ambassador of the Vietnam Embassy in Japan; Dr Dang Thi Bich Lien, former Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Honorary President of the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club; and Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam, Deputy Director of the Fund for the Conservation of Vietnam’s Cultural Heritage and President of the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club.
Also present were officials from the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan; representatives from the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Clubs in Ho Chi Minh City and Dak Lak; and artists, Ao Dai designers, and Ao Dai lovers who cherish Vietnamese culture.
Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam, Executive Deputy Director of the Fund for the Conservation of Vietnam’s Cultural Heritage and President of the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club, emphasised that the love for traditional cultural heritage has inspired meaningful actions to promote the image of Vietnam, especially the Ao Dai, to shine across the world.
Recently, a series of Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Clubs have been established and actively operated in many countries.
On behalf of the organising committee, Ms Hoang Thi Ngoc Mai, Executive Vice President of the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club, announced the decision to establish the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club in Japan.
The event was regarded as highly significant, marking the beginning of a journey to preserve, promote, and spread the beauty of the Vietnamese Ao Dai in the “Land of the Rising Sun”, a country with which Vietnam shares a long-standing and sustainable partnership.
Ngo Thi Bich Hanh, Director of the Institute for Ethnic Cultural Communication Studies in Tokyo, Japan, assumed the role of Head of the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club in Japan. She, along with all members of the club’s executive committee, was officially introduced during the event.
On the occasion, the public in Tokyo had the opportunity to enjoy a variety of performances rich in Vietnamese cultural identity, with the Ao Dai and its traditional values, as preserved and celebrated by generations of Vietnamese people.
