In recent years, the Red Cross Societies of Vietnam and Laos have carried out various exchange, cooperation, and assistance activities at the central level and in the provinces sharing a border.

Humanitarian cooperation activities, exchanges and meetings, to share and learn experiences, disaster relief, and healthcare activities for people in border areas, have been conducted regularly and have been more substantial.

The Vietnam Red Cross Society has directed local provincial and city-level societies, with the potential to sign cooperation agreements and implement suitable humanitarian activities in Lao provinces.

The Executive Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society has organised training courses for leaders and staff of the Laos Red Cross Society in Vietnam and provided people affected by the dam collapse in Attapeu Province with disaster relief.
