The month takes place from May 1-31 with its peak from May 8-15.
During the month, the VRSC aims to begin construction on 75 flood-proof houses, as well as provide assistance to 150,000 disadvantaged people and 750 families.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, President of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front (VFF) Do Van Chien praised the VRSC’s initiative, which is calling on the whole society to join hands for a safe and healthy community, especially amid the complicated developments of Covid-19.
He asked the VRSC to identify its core tasks and enhance its position and influence in the field of humanitarianism.
The VFF President stated that a part of the Vietnamese population in remote and disaster-prone areas are facing a great deal of difficulty and are in need of support.
Chien therefore called on agencies, organisations, enterprises, businesspeople, philanthropists and the people as a whole to continue working with the VRCS to help poor and disadvantaged people so as to create a safe and humane society.
