Vietnam – RoK Friendship Exchange opens in Ba Ria – Vung Tau

The Vietnam – Republic of Korea (RoK) Friendship Exchange opened in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province on December 1 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and the RoK (1992-2022).

The event was attended by Le Hoang Hai, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and Chairman of the Vietnam-RoK Friendship Association’s chapter in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province; Yang Cheol Soo, Chairman of the Association of Overseas Koreans in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province; Do Thi Nhu Mai, Chairman of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organisations, along with representatives of RoK businesses and more than 100 RoK students and local people.

Speaking at the exchange, Vice Chairman Le Hoang Hai affirmed that Vietnam and RoK are reliable friends and partners, on their path of national construction and development.

He noted with pleasure that political trust and mutual understanding between the two countries have been continuously consolidated, while economic cooperation has always been an important pillar in bilateral cooperation.

He hailed that the friendship and cooperation relationship between Ba Ria-Vung Tau province and RoK localities, agencies, organisations and businesses in particular has continuously developed strongly and effectively.

The province has signed cooperation agreements with several localities of RoK, including Jeollanam-Do Province, Geyyang District, Ansan City, and Pohang City.

He reported that Vung Tau city is working on establishing tourism cooperation with Geoje city.

Regarding investment cooperation, RoK is the second largest foreign investor in the province, with 124 FDI projects and with a total registered investment capital of more than 5 trillion billion USD. These projects have contributed significantly to the provincial socio-economic development.

In addition to the unique cultural performances, the program also allowed visitors to taste typical RoK dishes and explore traditional Vietnamese calligraphy.
