Vietnamese, Cambodian journalists promote cooperation and mutual understanding

A delegation of the Club of Cambodian Journalists (CCJ) led by its President Puy Kea visited and worked with Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, the Vietnam Journalists' Association (VJA), and the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) on May 14-15.

Le Quoc Minh, Editor-in-chief of the Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vice Chairman of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Information and Education, and VJA Chairman received the Cambodian delegation at the newspaper's headquarters on May 15.

Minh, who is also a member of the Party Central Committee expressed his hope that the visit will help enhance mutual understanding between journalists of the two countries, thus contributing to the enhancement of the Vietnam-Cambodia traditional friendship.

The two sides exchanged views on measures to raise the quality of journalistic works, as well as challenges to traditional journalism in the digital era, and the application of artificial intelligence (Al) in operations of press agencies.

On the same day, the Cambodian delegation was received by VJA Standing Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Loi.

At the meetings, the sides said the visit offered an opportunity to strengthen solidarity between press agencies and bring Vietnamese and Cambodian journalism closer.

Also on May 15, receiving the Cambodian journalists at the VNA headquarters in Hanoi, VNA Deputy General Director Nguyen Tuan Hung briefed them on the operations of the agency, with 63 representative offices in all 63 provinces and centrally-run cities, and 30 overseas bureaus, including one in Cambodia.
