Taking place simultaneously in Hanoi and Dien Bien province from May 7 to 12, the exhibition displayed a circular panorama that was 5.5 metres in diameter and 3 metres high.
Featuring around 4,500 characters, the panorama depicts the entire army going to battle, the opening combat at Him Lam hill, the A1 hill battle, and the triumph.
Tech enthusiasts could scan the QR codes on the panorama or download an augmented reality app for an interactive experience.
Also on the occasion, Nhan Dan Newspaper launched a special coverage of the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory’s 70th anniversary.
The highlight of the coverage is the Nhan Dan issue, published on May 7, 2024. The issue included a 12-page supplement, featuring the whole panorama of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, with over 4,500 characters currently on display at the Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum, being printed on four pages.
Readers could cut the pages and combine them into a panorama measuring up to 3.21 metres long – a print newspaper record – for display in their homes or in public spaces.
