Speaking at the event, Ambassador Tran Anh Vu emphasised that people-to-people exchange is one of the priorities of the Vietnam-Brunei comprehensive partnership in the 2023-2027 period.
The Vietnamese tourism space is the first of its kind to be held by a foreign diplomatic corps in this public area, he noted, adding that to draw attention to the pavilion, the embassy will screen high quality video clips spotlighting the nation and people of Vietnam, including famous tourist attractions like Ninh Thuan, Nha Trang, and Da Nang.
Specifically, videos about Ninh Thuan, which is home to a Muslim community that shares many similarities with that in Brunei, will be highlighted, said the diplomat.
Sabirin Abdul Hamid, CEO of the Royal Brunei Airlines, said that the Vietnamese tourism space is a passionate effort of Vietnam and Brunei, specifically between the Vietnamese Embassy and the Royal Brunei Airlines.
The current frequency of three flights per week from Brunei to Ho Chi Minh City is not commensurate with the potential for cooperation between the two countries, he said, expressing his hope that with the information provided by the Vietnamese tourism promotion space, this potential will be further exploited.
