The index closed 0.46 points higher after gaining 33.14 points in the previous session.
Trading on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange expanded by 18% to 21.99 trillion VND (902.06 million USD).
The VN-30 basket, comprising the 30 largest capped stocks, saw eight tickers gained. Eighteen blue chips fell.
Foreign investors were net sellers to the tune of 806 billion VND, mainly selling VHM and VCB of state-owned lender Vietcombank.
The HNX-Index for stocks on the Hanoi Stock Exchange went up by 0.53%, while the UPCoM-Index for the Unlisted Public Companies Market rose 0.05%.
