The event was jointly held by the CPV’s Steering Committee 135 and the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA) in collaboration with the CPV’s Commission for Communication and Education, the CPV’s Theoretical Council, Communist Review, Nhan Nhan Newspaper, and the Vietnam Journalists’ Association.

Speaking at ceremony, Politburo member and Director the HCMA Nguyen Xuan Thang said that, more than 8 months since its launch, the contest has created a widespread response in the political system across 63 provinces and cities nationwide with 116,252 entries.
The entries focused on supplementing and developing Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought; persistently pursuing the goal of national independence and socialism; theoretical and practical issues on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam; as well as theoretical and practical issues on the national reform policy; and the protection of principles on Party building.

The Politburo member also emphasised that the contest aimed to strengthen the force of writers with sharp pens to criticise wrongful and hostile views, forming a source of high-quality writings, which serve as communications work in further popularising the Party’s viewpoints and policies, especially through the documents of the 13th National Party Congress, and spreading the contents of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s book entitled “Some theoretical and practical issues on socialism and the path towards socialism in Vietnam”.
The contest organisers awarded prizes in two categories: Journal articles (printed and electronic journals) and newspapers (printed and electronic newspapers). Seven A prizes, 10 B prizes, 15 C prizes and 20 consolation prizes were presented to entries in the Journal articles category, while 5 A prizes, 10 B prizes, 15 C prizes and 20 consolation prizes were awarded to winners in the Newspapers category.
In addition, prizes were also presented to 15 excellent collectives, and 20 Promising Prizes were given to outstanding entries written by Youth union members, young people and students.
