Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu departed for an official visit to Washington on Sunday, calling the trip a "great opportunity" to expand the circle of peace in the Middle East.

* Chinese Premier Li Qiang said Sunday that BRICS countries should strive to become the vanguard in advancing the reform of global governance.

* The BRICS grouping, which has emerged as a strong and principled force, represents an opportunity to shape a more balanced and just international order, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has said.

* Russian air defense forces shot down six Ukrainian drones attempting to attack Moscow on Sunday, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said. Specialists from emergency services are working at the crash sites of the debris, Sobyanin wrote in his Telegram channel.

* The Swiss embassy in Tehran reopened on Sunday after being temporarily closed on June 20 due to instability in Iran. Ambassador Nadine Olivieri Lozano and a small team returned to Tehran on Saturday, the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) said in a statement.

* Tanzania is set to host a high-level Pan-African summit focusing on the future of social security on the continent, a senior official announced Sunday.

* Israel's military issued an evacuation warning to Palestinians in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip on Sunday evening, saying it was launching heavy bombardment in the area.

* Houthis on Sunday reaffirmed the group's support for the Palestinian people and its hostility toward Israel and the United States.

* The Indonesian government has raised its rice production projection for 2026 to 33.8 million tons, up from the earlier estimate of 32 million tons made at the beginning of this year, Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman announced on Monday.

* China's textile industry posted stable growth in the first four months of the year, official data showed Monday.
