* The UN Secretary-General's Special Representative for Iraq, Mohamed Al Hassan, underscored the organization's commitment to supporting Iraq's Nov. 11 parliamentary elections, according to a statement by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry.

* The Bangladeshi Election Commission has announced that more than 127 million voters are registered for the country's 13th general election scheduled for February next year. The commission published the third list of voters on Sunday, stating that the number of voters across the country stands at 127.61 million, of whom 1.30 million are new voters.

* China's National Immigration Administration (NIA) announced on Monday that the country's 240-hour visa-free transit program will be expanded to five more ports in Guangdong Province, as part of China's latest efforts to further deepen its opening-up policy. The new policy, to be effective on Wednesday, will raise the total number of ports eligible for the 240-hour visa-free transit from 60 to 65.

* There is no need to rapidly organize a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview released Sunday. Peskov said that promptly preparing such a meeting is possible, but there is no need for it, TASS news agency reported.

* Russia has added Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko to its list of individuals subject to special economic sanctions, according to a decree published on the government portal Saturday.

* The Russian military forces launched a coordinated strike against Ukraine's military-industrial enterprises, gas and energy complex facilities, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.
