Representatives from the organising agencies presented 500 national flags to fishermen in Lang Co town and VND90 million (US$4,230), which was donated by Thanh Nien newspaper’s readers, to 20 disadvantaged young fishermen in Phu Loc district. Each fishermen received VND4.5 million to repair their fishing boats.
On the same day, similar gifts were granted to three disadvantaged young fishermen’s families in An Cu Dong 1 commune, Lang Co town.
Meanwhile, young workers in Phu Bai Industrial Park, Huong Thuy town, Thua Thien-Hue province joined training courses on work culture, labour and food safety, free medical checks and medicine distribution, free consultation about unemployment insurance, as well as singing and sports contests.
The YUCC and Thanh Nien newspaper also presented medicine worth over VND10 million to workers whose parents are fishermen.
