The 10th Vietnam Summer School of Science takes place from August 22-25 and attracts the participation of many special guests, including 20 lecturers and 150 outstanding students who were selected from more than 900 applications, from many fields of science.

In particular, Professor Tran Thanh Van and Professor Ngo Bao Chau will participate in a roundtable between the Vietnam Summer School of Science (VSSS) and the two main sponsors, the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science and Education in Quy Nhon (ICISE) and the Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM)

The event is part of the 19th “Meeting Vietnam” (Rencontres du Vietnam) programme, marking the achievements of the Vietnam Summer School of Science during the past 10 years, and opening a new direction for the summer school in the coming years.

The VSSS started in 2013 from the ideas of three people: Dr. Giap Van Duong, Dr. Luu Quang Hung and Dr. Ngo Duc The.

VSSS is an initiative of a young group of Vietnamese scientists working oversea and nationwide, who wished to inspire young students in their home country. It aims to inspire courage and support young Vietnamese who are keen on pursuing research as a career.

Also within the framework of the event, two competitions "Nextgen VSS Challenge" and "Science-A-thon" were held, creating conditions for students to collaborate and develop their creative ideas and research skills.
