This activity responds to the 2024 Festival for Peace, which will open on the evening of July 6, at this relic.

Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper Nguyen Ngoc Toan said, that the sports cycling movement has developed strongly over the years. However, a large-scale tournament has not been held in Quang Tri. This is also why the "Cycling for Peace" event on the sacred land of Quang Tri was born.

He expresses his hope that the festival would contribute to honouring the values of peace, and be an opportunity to introduce some typical historical relics in the province and promote the image, culture, land and people of Quang Tri, to people at home and abroad.

A group of 600 athletes cycled from the Hien Luong-Ben Hai national historical relic site, to Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery, then ended at Fidel Park, in Dong Ha City, with a distance of nearly 42km.

At the Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery, the group offered incense to pay tribute to fallen heroes, giving gifts to families who contributed to the revolution and students in difficult circumstances.
