Activities centred around National Flag to spread patriotism

On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the National Day of Vietnam (September 2), the Vietnam Youth Federation, the Department of Foreign Information under the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the TikTok platform, in collaboration with Schannel Network, launched the National Day Campaign (#NgayQuocKhanh) to spread the national spirit and patriotism through activities centred around the National Flag.

Using the image of the National Flag as the centrepiece, the campaign leverages communicative activities to "paint red" social media platforms. The National Day media campaign aims to demonstrate that the national spirit and patriotism are ever-present in every Vietnamese person.

Additionally, the campaign aims to support and spread the positive image of Vietnam through a photo and video contest themed “Happy Vietnam 2024”, which was initiated by the Ministry of Information and Communications on a platform promoting Vietnam's image, at https://happy.vietnam.vn.

Targeting content creators, KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders), and citizens nationwide, the campaign focuses on launching the hashtag #NgayQuocKhanh on the TikTok platform.

With the support of TikTok, the Vietnam Youth Federation, the Department of Foreign Information, and Schannel Network, a trending video template with the theme of "Spreading National Spirit and Patriotism on National Day (September 2)” was launched, accompanied by the main hashtags #NgayQuocKhanh, #ToiYeuToQuocToi, and #happyvietnam.

Accordingly, from August 26 to September 5, content creators and the user community will "paint TikTok red” by simultaneously posting contents that reflect national spirit and patriotism on September 2, using a special effect that spreads the image of the Vietnamese National Flag.

News content, vlogs, and historical stories related to the National Day and President Ho Chi Minh will also be shared by content creators. Meanwhile, the #BookTok community will share books and stories about the glorious history of Vietnam on the platform.

The organisers hope that by participating in content platforms and social networks, all Vietnamese citizens, regardless of who they are or what they are doing, will turn toward the National Flag with their respect and pride, capture that moment, and share it on social media.

Moreover, an activity titled “alleys filled with flags” is welcoming the National Day by "painting red" all living spaces with strung-up and raised National Flags, which will contribute to spreading love for the National Flag and the country through the simple and familiar act of decorating personal living spaces into the most vibrant and proud “alleys filled with flags.”

The main National Day event on September 2, 2024, will focus on the image of the National Flag, which will appear on all streets nationwide with a sense of pride.

On the morning of September 2, Schannel will collaborate with managers of giant LED screens in major cities across the country, such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nghe An, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Thanh Hoa, and Can Tho, to screen images of the National Flag from 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM and repeat throughout the day.

The campaign is an opportunity for people across the country to express their patriotism and national pride.

Also, on the same morning, Schannel Network will broadcast a video titled "Spreading National Spirit and Patriotism Campaign” which captures moments when KOLs across the country, alongside many youth union members from various ministries and departments, participate in solemn and proud flag-raising ceremonies at seven locations in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The campaign aims to flood social media with beautiful images of the National Flag from people across the country and abroad, with the message: "Wherever you are, on September 2, let's all turn toward the National Flag with pride in Vietnam.”

The campaign will take place simultaneously on online channels, combined with offline filming activities at locations nationwide, with the expectation that the campaign's series of activities will reach 100 million views and interactions on social media platforms.
