People’s Artist Quoc Hung (bass) from the North and People’s Artist Ta Minh Tam (tenor) from the South will stand together on a festively decorated float adorned with flags and flowers, moving along with the parade on Le Duan Street. Together, they will perform a mashup of two timeless songs: “Dat nuoc tron niem vui” (The Nation is Full of the Joys of Reunification) by composer Hoang Ha and “Mau hoa do” (Red Flowers) by composer Thuan Yen.

Prior to the official national ceremony on the morning of April 30, People’s Artists Quoc Hung and Ta Minh Tam participated in the state-level final rehearsal on the morning of April 27, also held along Le Duan Street.

People’s Artist Quoc Hung shared his emotions: “I woke up at 3 AM and saw that Saigon never seemed to sleep. People filled the streets, bringing raincoats and mats, waiting to watch the rehearsal. There were elderly people and war veterans from across the country gathered here. Witnessing such passionate patriotism brought tears to my eyes.”

The ceremony marking the 50th Anniversary of Southern Liberation and National Reunification is a momentous political event of national importance. The event is organised by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, and Ho Chi Minh City.
