“Red Rain” film wins the Golden Lotus Award

The film “Mua do” (Red Rain), a film about the 81-day battle to defend the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, has won the Golden Lotus Award for the category of the feature film at the awards ceremony for the 24th Viet Nam Film Festival held in Ho Chi Minh City on November 25.

At the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh announced and presented the Golden Lotus Prize to the feature film “Red Rain” (produced by the Viet Nam People's Army Cinema).

Red Rain also won several other prizes, including the Best Art Direction (Art Director Vu Viet Hung), the Best Sound (Sound Designer Hoang Thi Thu Thuy), the Best Supporting Actor (Actor Phuong Nam) and the Best Visual Effects.

Golden Lotus Prizes were also presented to the documentary, the scientific and the animated films.

At the ceremony, the organising committee also awarded silver lotus prizes to eight outstanding works.

Phuong Anh Dao was honoured as the Best Actress in “Mai”, and Tuan Tran was the Best Actor in “Mang me di bo” (Leaving mom). Supporting actress and actor awards were presented to Hong Dao (Mai), Bao Dinh (Hijacked), and Phuong Nam (Red Rain).

The Best Director and the Best Debut Director awards went Ham Tran (Hijacked) and Thu Trang (Money Kisses).

The 24th Vietnam Film Festival reaffirmed its role as a celebration of national cinema—a place where works rich in humanity connect the hearts of creators with audiences, and a symbol of cultural confidence, aspiration, and national strength.

The 25th Viet Nam Film Festival will be held in Bac Ninh Province.
