Based on the classic tale by E.T.A. Hoffmann, the production follows the magical journey of a young girl named Clara and her Nutcracker soldier – who transforms into a prince in her dreams and leads her through battles, dances and enchanting landscapes in the Confectionery Kingdom.
The ballet was choreographed and staged with distinctive flair by renowned Norwegian choreographer Johanne Jakhelln Constant, specially for the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera (HBSO). Over the years, it has won the hearts of countless audiences, particularly the younger generation.
A special feature of this performance is the live accompaniment by the HBSO Symphony Orchestra and the HBSO Female Choir, delivering authentic and deeply emotional sounds. The entire score will be conducted by Dr Le Ha My, who will serve as the vital link between the stage, the performers and the audience, ensuring a vibrant musical experience in the true spirit of Tchaikovsky.
This re-staging will feature a line-up of talented artists, including Do Hoang Khang Ninh (Clara & Sugarplum Fairy), Le Tuan Anh (Nutcracker), Le Duc Anh (Cavalier), Chika Tatsumi (Snow Queen), La Man Nhi (Dewdrop), and Dang Minh Hien (Mr Drosselmeyer), alongside Salsa Ballet.
