Under the theme “Beauty of the landscape and people in the Northern Mountainous Region”, the event showcased many outstanding photographic works.
This year’s festival brought together photographers from the provinces of Cao Bang, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Lang Son, Phu Tho, Son La, Thai Nguyen, and Tuyen Quang.
A total of 1,749 works were submitted to the festival by 246 photographers.
Of these, 136 photographs by 86 photographers, including 108 single images and 28 photo series, were selected by the organising committee for exhibition and awards.
The organisers presented eight consolation prizes, six bronze medals, four silver medals, and two gold medals to photographers with the most outstanding works.
According to Pham Thanh Thang, Deputy Chairman of the Cao Bang Provincial Association of Literature and Arts, the festival is a major gathering for photographers across the Northern Mountainous Region. It provides an opportunity for artists to meet, exchange ideas, and share creative experience, while also presenting their most accomplished works for competition.
Through this, the festival contributes to promoting the photography movement in the region, while encouraging and motivating artists to continue creating high-quality works depicting the beauty of the country and its people in localities across the region.
Notably, the 24th edition of the festival also saw the emergence of many new and promising photographic talents, regarded as a reliable next generation capable of strengthening the core force of photography movements both regionally and nationwide.
